Dropify is primarily an app used on Facebook for downloading music. Dropify is like Noisetrade, but is based on Facebook and is not as well know as Noisetrade. Both sites are used for artists to give away there music for free, but there are some differences between the two. Noisetrade is based primarily off of their website and to download free music from Noisetrade you have to first give them you email address after they suggest you pay a tip for the music. This process is a little slow because the user has to go to his or her email and copy and paste a code that Noisetrade sends them and then go back to the site and enter the code in to download the music. With Dropify the user just has to be signed in to his or her Facebook and then they would click download on the app at the artist’s page and the music would start downloading. Dropify does has a website as well, but it is not used like Noisetrade.
So what is the advantage of this app?
I really find no advantage from this app. I do think that it is pretty cool that it is all done on Facebook, but what I didn’t know until further research is that the artist actually has to pay $10.00 a mouth for this service….for what? Noisetrade does the same service for free for an artist. So who are the artists that have chosen to pay for a service that they can get for free? I am unsure of what advantage they think they are getting except for maybe more Facebook likes. The Dropify app can be made so that if someone wants to download the music, they have to like the artist’s Facebook page. Dropify seems to be a cool app for Facebook, but it will never grow into popularity until they do their service for free like Noistrade.
